Prepress Technician

Job Duties:
  • Design and production of label artwork for flexographic and digital output
  • Scan and re-create artwork
  • Data entry of all work using Esko Automation Engine and Label Traxx software
  • Out-put calibrated proofs on Epson proofer using EFI and FlexProof software
  • Pre-flight all in-coming artwork
  • Proofread all artwork prior to output
  • Archiving and tracking of all work
  • Plate making using DuPont™ FAST and Kodak systems
  • Working with Sales, Production, and Press staff to obtain high quality end product; assist in other areas when necessary

Skills/Qualifications:
  • Diploma or certificate in Graphic Communications field
  • Proficient cross-platform computer skills in Mac and PC environments
  • Comfortable using Creative Suite programs
  • Able to work in a team environment under rush timelines
  • Automation software experience would be an asset
  • Digital plate making knowledge would be an asset

Flexographic Label Press Operator

Job Purpose: Operation of flexographic label press. Must have a minimum of five years’ experience as a Flexographic Press Operator within the label industry. Knowledge of Webtron, Mark Andy and/or OMET presses will be considered an asset.

Job Duties:
  • Mount plates or cylinders and make necessary adjustments
  • Fill ink fountains and control colour and viscosity
  • Set up press and operate at slow speed to check samples
  • Monitor regular press run for quality using computer control console
  • Remove and clean plates and cylinders at end of press run

Skills/Qualifications: Reading text, document use, numeracy, writing, oral communication, working with others, problem solving, decision making, critical thinking, significant use of memory, finding information, computer use, continuous learning. Work under pressure, physically demanding, manual dexterity, attention to detail, hand-eye co-ordination, ability to distinguish between colours, standing for extended periods in a noisy work environment.

Account Sales Representative

Job Purpose: Generates revenue by developing market potential through forecasting, lead generation, qualification, and closing sales; recommending new products and services.

Job Duties:
  • Identifies market potential by qualifying accounts
  • Initiates sales process by scheduling appointments, making initial presentation, and understanding account requirements
  • Closes sales by building rapport with potential account; explaining product and service capabilities; overcoming objections; preparing contracts
  • Expands sales in existing accounts by introducing new products and services; developing new applications
  • Contributes information to market strategy by monitoring competitive products and reactions from accounts
  • Recommends new products and services by evaluating current product results; identifying needs to be filled
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
  • Accomplishes marketing and organization mission by completing related results as needed
